The Maryvale Community Project provides services to meet the needs of older people and adults with learning disabilities.

It became clear that in Kingstanding, Great Barr and the Pheasey Estate, elderly people living alone and adults with learning disabilities were the two main groups who would value support.   Our services were designed to meet these needs, including use of the Maryvale Community Centre, which the parish prepared and refurbished to serve the wider community. Our services are a weekly lunch club, home visiting service, telephone befriending service and Sunshine Club for adults with learning disabilities.

Maryvale employs its own staff, who ensure that services are well run, always with the support of a very committed volunteer team and Board of Directors, who are themselves’s volunteers.

The project also values the support of Father Hudson’s Care. Father Hudson’s Care provide help with HR, recruitment, policies, procedures and line management.  The Head of Community Projects from Father Hudson’s Care is a member of Maryvale’s Board and is in regular contact with the project.
