On Saturday 12th August the Project held it very first Community Fun Day. We were both excited and nervous about the day itself and whether anyone would come! Come they did, we had people enjoying the various games on offer, and the children (and some adults) loved getting their faces painted, there were tigers, butterflies, cats, superheroes and even football teams proudly worn on smiling faces.
We also had some wonderful live entertainment as we were proud to be part of the run-up to the Birmingham Weekender, an event held in the City Centre in September. We were also delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor Anne Underwood. She spent time meeting and chatting with those who had attended the event and the many volunteers who were helping out and learning more about the work of the Project. The Lord Mayor spoke for all involved with the Project when she said that she hoped that this would be the first of what will become an annual event.
We would like to thank all involved in making the day both joyful and informative both in front of and behind the scenes. To our wonderful volunteers who give so generously of their time, to Jobe and the musicians from Café Arts and to the Lord Mayor for her visit which was appreciated by all.
